Vocalist and Upright Bassist, Chris Conte performs classic, swinging American Songbook jazz & blues favorites. He takes influence from musical legends, such as Nat "King" Cole, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., and Diana Krall, while his voice is often compared to that of a young Chet Baker or Mel Torme. His performance will satisfy audiences of all types. While his singing, bass playing, and band mates will be featured, the real stars of the night are the timeless songs.
In addition to performing swing, jazz, and blues, Chris is a classically trained singer and bassist and often performs featured classical vocal selections and/or classical instrumental pieces for wedding ceremonies. Chris owns a high quality P.A. system that is perfect for small to medium-large venues, and he often works as a Master of Ceremony for upscale events. While not a traditional D.J., Chris offers a service he likes to call "Music Amplification," which ensures that the bride or host hears exactly the music she or he wishes to hear during their special event! By providing these varied services, all at the highest level, Chris is a "full-service" vendor providing all your musical needs for your upcoming event.
Chris lives in Dobbs Ferry, NY. In addition to performing at upscale private events, Chris can be found singing and playing at concerts and festivals in the Tri-State area. He teaches vocal and double bass on a limited basis from his home studio and from the Sonis Music Studios in Tuckahoe, NY.
